    Frequently Asked Questions

What does TSN, TSO, CSN and CSO mean on an engine listing?

    +

TSN is total time since new and TSO is time since the last overhaul, both in hours. CSN and CSO are the same two measures counted in cycles rather than hours. Together they tell you how much life the engine has used and how much is left before the next scheduled shop visit — which is most of what determines its value.

What is a core engine, and why would I buy one?

    +

A core is an engine that is not airworthy as it stands but still holds real value in its parts and its life-limited components. Buyers take one on as an overhaul candidate, as the core they owe a shop under an exchange agreement, or as a part-out asset. It is a different transaction from buying a serviceable engine, not a lesser one.

Do your engines come with an FAA Form 8130-3?

    +

Serviceable and overhauled units are supplied with the airworthiness release documentation their condition and release history support, and we will tell you exactly what exists before you commit. Cores and as-removed engines are sold on their records and trace rather than on an 8130-3. We would rather lose a sale than overstate paperwork.

Can you export an engine outside the United States?

    +

Yes. We are based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and ship worldwide. Default terms are EXW Fort Lauderdale, and we can arrange crating and freight on your account. Import duties, local certification and any licensing on your side remain yours to handle, and we will tell you upfront if we think something will be a problem.

Why is the price on request instead of published?

    +

Because on a used turbine engine the price follows the specific unit — its times, cycles, life-limited part status and the completeness of its records. A published number would be either meaningless or misleading. Ask about a specific engine and you get a firm figure, not a range.

Can I inspect the engine before buying?

    +

Yes, and we would rather you did. Pre-purchase inspection at your facility or ours is welcome, and we will send photographs, data plate images and the records package beforehand. A buyer who has verified what they are buying is a buyer who closes.

Do you buy engines as well as sell them?

    +

Yes, and we buy for our own account rather than taking consignments. Airworthy, mid-time, run-out, hot section due, incomplete or a core with thin records — send the details and we will come back with a number. No listing fee and no waiting for someone else's buyer.

    Are you an overhaul shop?

    +

No. We are an engine trader and asset partner, not a repair station. We buy, sell and broker engines, and we work with authorised overhaul facilities rather than pretending to be one. If you need shop work, we will point you at the right facility instead of quoting it ourselves.
